Role Objectives
The QA Food Safety Lead should ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the organization. This role is responsible for managing various quality assurance functions related to complaints management, supplier quality, calibration, pest control, and audit support. The QA Food & Safety Lead plays a critical role in identifying and addressing potential risks to food safety and quality, implementing corrective actions, and continuously improving processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversee the complaints management process, including receiving, documenting, investigating, and resolving customer complaints related to food safety and quality.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying reasons for complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address systemic issues impacting product quality and customer satisfaction.
Lead supplier quality management initiatives to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials.
Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to assess compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Manage the calibration program for measurement and testing equipment used in production, testing, and quality control activities.
Develop and implement pest management programs, including regular inspections, monitoring, and treatment measures.
Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up activities.
Coordinate audit schedules, compile documentation, and assist auditors in conducting audits of food safety and quality management systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Vet,Microbiology, Quality Management, or a related field.
Certifications in food safety and quality systems (e.g., ISO 22000, HACCP, BRC, SQF) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
Hands-on experience in complaints management, supplier quality, equipment calibration, pest control, and audit preparation.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards, such as FDA, EU regulations, or Codex Alimentarius.
